Established in 2009, the CBR is HDB’s Master Laboratory and pioneers research and development (R&D) efforts in building and environmental sustainability, nurturing new technologies for future generations of public housing. New initiatives in five key areas, namely Energy, Urban Greenery, Living Environment, Waste & Water and Building Technology, are developed as prototypes and evaluated in the CBR before actual implementation within HDB estates. This technical visit will enable guests an insider’s perspective at how HDB harnesses technology to create innovative ‘Sustainable Towns’ for a pleasant, green living environment and quality home for its residents.
