A Practical Approach towards Energy Efficiency in Process Plants

    Abstract
Chemical and petrochemical sector is one of the largest energy consumers of total energy use worldwide. Petrochemical industry is responsible for a large fraction of energy consumption in this sector. With today’s technology, the energy efficiency has improved significantly in the newer chemical and petrochemical process units. The older plants which have inherited with lower energy efficiency are having great potential in energy efficiency improvement. Process plant owner’s commitment to strategise its energy management programme is crucial for the success of improving energy performance of existing facilities.
