Than Than is from Land Transport Authority (LTA), Road Asset Regulation and Licensing Division. She obtained her Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and Doctor of Philosophy in Geotechnical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her role in LTA involves conducting feasibility studies on innovations to resolve issues and challenges faced in road asset regulatory and operational works and reviewing new methods and technologies to enhance reliance and performance of road asset system.

Sustainable Developments to Enhance Management of Road Assets
Abstract
Our presentation will highlight three green initiatives that Singapore’s Land Transport Authority has embarked on to contribute to greener and more sustainable road infrastructures:
(i) Development of porous asphalt wearing course using industrial waste material, steel slag, for green road construction;
(ii) Introduction of the use of warm mix asphalt for environmentally friendly road paving; and
(iii) Use of surface coatings on concrete pavement for preventive and sustainable maintenance regime. This presentation will also include comprehensive laboratory tests and performance monitoring conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of these initiatives.
