    Dr. Loc Nguyen has been actively involved in multiple projects and researches including international projects on developing EMS/DMS, micro-grids with distributed energy resources (DERs) such as renewables and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Currently he is working at DNV GL, R&I team, as a senior consultant, focusing on asset management and microgrid. His professional expertise includes computer-aided power system algorithm & analysis, EMS/DMS, micro-grid, DG, BESS, inverter control, and asset management.

    Presentation Title
    EAMS – A Hybrid Solution for Future Distribution System with High Penetration of DERS

    Abstract
    This presentation will introduce an idea of integrated Energy Asset Management System, which is based on the conventional EMS and AMS systems. The main objectives of the presentation are to address the three questions: What is EAMS? Why EAMS? And how EAMS helps? The presentation will also introduce the high level conceptual design of the EAMS. Along with the three main objectives, the concept of AMS, which is relatively new to the utilities in developing countries, the new standard ISO 55000 released in 2014, and the maintenance strategy evolution.
