Presentation Title
Low Energy Point Reaction Method in Biodiesel Production
Abstract
This paper documents our work on a point reaction approach in producing Biodiesel. This approach is useful in commercial production where considerable time savings is achieved via faster reaction and glycerine settling. We build and tested a 200 liter prototype reactor. The use of point contact requires the presence of air surrounding the molecules of oil. This is achieved through saturating the oil initially with air at the optimum reaction temperature. Its advantages include faster reaction time; faster glycerine settling time; lesser storage tank for glycerine settling and lesser production footprint.
