Presentation Title
How to Enhance Renewable Energy Grid Integration by Distributed Energy Storages
Abstract
In this paper, how to enhance renewable energy grid integration by distributed energy storages will be discussed. The Virtual Power Plant (VPP) concept aggregates multiple small-scale battery energy storage systems (BESSs) into a large scale entity and it will be applied to address the frequency regulation issues caused by renewable energy and to enhance renewable energy penetration in power grid. Several BESS aggregation rules will be proposed and the performance will be tested using real system frequency dynamics captured by a smart meter installed on-site.
